Kasganj : The issue of the Dalit youth's procession in Kasganj, UP, is getting hot. Dalit dancer Sanjay Jatav has now indicated that he is going to the Supreme Court in this case. Sanjay says that if the police and administration did not give him any alternate route then the Dalit society would not allow the procession of upper castes to pass through its territory.
According to TOI, on Friday, Allahabad High Court had rejected Sanjay's plea for intervention of the court over the procession route. The petition was said to allow the procession to pass through Thakur area of Nizampur village of Kasganj. Sanjay's marriage is scheduled on April 20.
Sanjay and his fiancé Soft claim that the upper caste people in the village threatened him and refused to allow horses to climb in the village during the procession. In the village, only 50 are from Dalits and more than 300 upper caste families live here.
