The youth was sitting behind his friend on a motorcycle and going to Auraiya district of Uttar Pradesh, when a truck approaching fast from the wrong direction hit the motorcycle.

New Delhi: Motor Accident Claims Tribunal has announced a compensation of Rs 44 lakh to a 20-year-old youth who lost one leg in a road accident. MACT ordered the Cholamandalam MS General Insurance Company Limited to pay Rs 44,29,000 to the victim Dharmendra Singh.

According to the petition, Singh was going to Auraiya district of UP on a motorcycle on November 18, 2014, when a truck approaching fast from the wrong direction hit the motorcycle. The motorcycle fell into a pit and Singh was injured.

Rajak Bansal, the presiding officer of the MACT, ruled on the petition in support of the documents, including the FIR, chargesheet and the medical report of the victim, in the records contained in the records. The tribunal also said that the driver of the truck involved in the accident and the insurance company did not present any evidence to dismiss the claims made in the petition.
