On the occasion of Kartik Purnima and Dev Deepawali, crowds gather for Sangam bath in Allahabad
In the month of sun worship, the last bath festival of Kartik, on the Kartik Purnima, Sangam Nagar, Allahabad, there is a lot of pilgrimage for devotees to make a dip of faith in Triveni of Ganga-Yamuna and invisible Saraswati.
Thousands of pilgrims from faraway pilgrimage are giving the sun to the sun after placing a dip in the stream of confluence and worshiping God Kartikeya and wishing to be healthy for the family throughout the year.
Thousands of devotees had assembled before the sun's first ray of exhaustion at the confluence. There was no place to keep moles on many ghats. Due to rare coincidence of planetary constellations this time, the bath of Kartik Purnima is of particular importance.
The devotees who come to the Sangam are doing charity and worship along with bath and worship. According to the belief Kartik Purnima was born on the day of Lord Shiva and Kartikeya, the son of Mata Parvati.
It is also believed that Lord Vishnu, the worshiper of the universe, had adopted a mermaid form on the very day. For this reason, the person who receives bath and worship on Kartik Purnima is blessed with Akshay virtue and healthy life.
For this reason, there is a huge crowd of people bathing in the section of Triveni in Sangam Nagar Allahabad. Dev Deepawali will also be celebrated on the eve of all the ghats of Allahabad along with Sangam this evening. This time Dev Deepawali will be dedicated to the soldiers stationed on the border areas of the country.
